Why NCERT and flashcards fit together so well
NCERT chapters are unusually card-shaped. They are written in short declarative statements, each carrying one fact — a name, a value, an example, a classification. Converting a paragraph of NCERT Biology into six flashcards is nearly mechanical, which is exactly the kind of work worth automating.
Compare that with a textbook written as continuous argument, where you have to decide what the testable claim even is. Here the book has already done that for you.
The chapter-at-a-time method
- Download the chapter PDF from the NCERT site. Chapter files, not whole books — a full textbook forces the AI to summarise at a level where the cards stop being specific enough to test.

- Prune to the testable lines. Delete anything narrative, anything you know cold, and anything whose answer is a paragraph. Expect to remove a third.
- Add what past papers caught and the deck missed.When a previous year's question tests a line your deck doesn't cover, write that card yourself. Those are the best cards you will own.
- Review daily. Fifteen minutes, in transit, offline. Consistency is the entire mechanism.
One chapter a day

Subject by subject
Biology — card almost everything testable
The largest section of the paper and the one closest to pure recall. Card the definitions, the examples NCERT chooses, the classifications, the numbers, the scientific names, the diagrams' labels and the small asides in brackets. The asides matter: NEET has a long history of asking about them.
Chemistry — split the subject
Inorganic chemistry is largely recall and cards beautifully: trends, properties, preparation methods, colours, exceptions. Physical chemistry is problem practice — card only the formulas, constants and conditions. Organic sits in between: card the reagents and what they do, work the mechanisms on paper.
Physics — cards are the small part
Formulas, units, definitions, constants, and the conditions under which a relation holds. Everything else is numerical practice. If you find yourself building a large Physics deck, you are avoiding problem-solving, and the exam will notice.
Two mistakes worth avoiding
Generating the whole syllabus in week one. Sixty chapters of cards created in a fortnight produces a daily review queue in the hundreds by the following month. You will skip a day, the backlog will double, and the deck will die. Convert at the pace you can review.
Treating cards as the whole plan. NEET is a timed MCQ exam with negative marking in its recent formats — accuracy under time pressure is a separate skill from knowing the fact, and only mock tests build it. Cards make the recall free so the clock stops being the enemy.
Where this leaves you
Realistically: NCERT read properly, converted chapter by chapter into a small pruned deck, reviewed for fifteen minutes a day, plus mocks. That's a system that survives a year of preparation. It is much less exciting than the shortcut everyone is looking for, and it is the one that works — for the reasons set out in how spaced repetition works.
